Although everything looks great for Kiarash today, his beginnings weren’t as beautiful. “My mother used to work so much, in an out of hair salons, that she would depend on my older brother to watch over me at times. I remember living in a single room, inside of a Spanish family’s apartment in East Los Angeles, with no lights or electricity. My brother would have to take me outside to play during the days while my mother worked.” Kiarash revealed.

When Kiarash was three years old, his father passed away from illness in his home country of Iran. Before that time, his father Mehdi Behain was able to move his wife (Kiarash’s mother), Kiarash and Kiarash’s brother to the United States. Due to his father not having a valid VISA, the Iranian government kept him in the country and he died shortly after. Kiarash’s mother Vaji was homeless, hopeless and foreign to the American culture stuck in a new country with her back against the wall. She fought all odds and successfuly raised three children growing up in Los Angeles.

Kiarash Behain on his early days:
“I remember my very first computer. It was huge metallic IBM machine from 1987 that barely had a working floppy disk drive. My mother was a single hard-working provider for my family and it was the only thing she could afford for me. When she walked through the door, I was so excited to have a computer that I used to imagine connecting to America Online using a modem-less machine. Just hearing the network communication sounds when attempting to connect to AOL was so satisfying to me. I didn’t even care if I wasn’t connected to the Internet nor was I hurt that I never got to hear the ‘You’ve got mail’ voice that day. It was all I had and I was so thankful for it.”

Shortly after his internet-less days, Kiarash’s mother was able to afford a TV-based entertainment and internet platform called “WebTV.” From that point, Kiarash was introduced to the magical World Wide Web and began to learn how to develop websites and chat software that connected to mIRC.

The social networking website hosted various sections including message boards, live chat rooms, member profiles, trending news, music, entertainment and much more.

Fast forward almost two decades later, Kiarash has developed his artistry, resume and company (Rundown Media) to represent some of the biggest brands and celebrities in the world.

“In the words of the great Tupac Shakur, I AM a rose that grew through concrete.” Kiarash Behain told us.

“If it wasn’t for my mother’s ability to overcome any obstacle that came her way, I wouldn’t be here today. It’s her that I credit for my success. It was her and God that led me here. She turned the ‘American Dream’ into a reality for me. For that, I am forever grateful.”
